Chances are - Turiaf is gone. Laker deadline to match.

Many signs point to the Lakers not matching the four-year, $17 million offer sheet Ronny Turiaf signed with the Golden State Warriors.

Today is the deadline for the Lakers to let Turiaf and the Warriors know of their decision about the restricted free agent.

The Warriors "front-loaded" Turiaf's contract which starts at $4.5 million and then goes to $4.2 million, $4.2 million and $4.1 million, for which Turiaf has a player option. Surely a dick move by the Warriors to thwart any attempt by the Lakers to resign (actually someone at Golden State is doing their homework):

The luxury tax for the 2008-09 season set at $71.150 million, and the Lakers already commited to 10 players at 75.135 million next season. Any dollar over the cap is assessed with a $2 luxury penalty meaning Turiaf's cost goes far beyond his contract.

So long Soulja Boy, getcho money! You'll be missed!!!!
