Hedgehog plays JJ Redick 27 minutes, including OT. Huh?

Stan Van Gundy (pictured left) again made this finals series about him, and not his players. He elected to go without a point guard during overtime and instead played JJ Redick 27 minutes. By comparison, Redick averages 17 minutes a game. Redick played more than their starting point guard, Rafer Alston and all-star Jameer Nelson! I just still can't believe the ball was in his hands as one of the Magic's primary options so late in the game.

In case you missed it, the Lakers snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. We all knew that the Magic of game 1 would quickly disappear. While the Lakers shot 46% (same as game 1) the Magic improved their shooting a mere 11% tightening this contest to force overtime. Were is not for a missed alley oop layup by Courtney Lee with just .6 remaining, this series would be tied and we would once again jump on the panic wagon. Of course this is why the Lakers never imagined a play to be called for Courntey Lee...Sometimes film can be a bitch...

Did anyone else immediately remember Fisher's .4 shot and think this was fate slapping us back?

So the Lakers go into Orlando up 2-0, nursing some bruises. Postgame, Lamar Odom mentioned that he, Pau and Kobe were all hurt. What gives me pause is Kobe. Early in game 2 he stepped on the ball and twisted what looked like his left ankle. Later he fell hard while being defended by Hedo Takeapoo.

Game 3 - Tuesday.
